RE: Valentine versus new Passport
I have not seen this exact comparison, but every comparison of Valentine to
anything else I have ever seen shows the V1 to be the superior model, not
just in sensitivity but also in ergonomics, usefulness of visual indicators,
etc. I did see a BEL once show up as more sensitive in some bands, but it
still sucked compared to the V1 in the information available through the
visual display. The V1 is many generations ahead of the old passport you
are using. Check out their web site for some very good demonstrations of
this.
Laser sensing doesn't help much. The beam is so narrow that once you sense
it, the odds are extremely high that it has sensed you. However, there are
very good (and legal) laser jammers available. I recommend the Blinder.

Subject: Valentine versus new Passport
Anybody do a head to head test of the Valentine versus the new Passport
(the 7600, I believe). Also, has anyone used the remote option on the
Valentine? Comments appreciated...
I'm running an original Passport (4 digit serial number) and am starting to
wonder about the laser patrols I'm missing...most of my driving is in New
England, and I *think* we're starting to get laser here...and I will be
taking an extended trip in the spring down to North Carolina...
Thoughts appreciated.
