RS2 clicking valve lifters?

Dear listers hello from Greece,

It is almost 10 days now that my RS2 has developed the "clicking valve
lifters"syndrome.
I went through the achrives and after reading them I tend to believe that
the clicking has developed because the oil change time has arrived.
Another possible reason I read, was a faulty vacuum pump.(Pls God no!)

I performed the "valve cover hearing with a screwdriver" technique and I can
hear the clicks coming from there. (sort like a mechanical watch ticking)

For those in the know, the RS2 has hydraulic valve lifters, ain't that so?
Supposedly not needing any clearance adjustment?

I will be changing the oil tomorrow anyway since 5k kms are already covered
with the present and recommended ARAL 5/50 synthetic ones.

The clicking is heard regardless of whether the engine is cold or hot,
idling or high in rpm.
