Just want to know from q-listers exactly where this
vacuum pump thing is on the turbo cars. Under the
exhaust manifold? I own the 1990 200 10-valve, it is
giving severe clicking from the manifold section.
I suppose if this thing does go bad then the clicking
would be more noticeable from between the air box
and the EM rather than from the top of the valve cover.
Where and what does it look like? How is it fitted and
how to remove it?
Exactly what devices does the pump provide vacuum to?
Is it simply there to operate things like ventilation
vent doors and heater valves on the heater water lines?
I suppose on quattros it also operates the vacuum
actuated switches for locking the diffs, right?
I don't like vacuum devices, still want to throw out
that central locking pump.
