It sounds just like my car I bought it with 74K and it now has 176K
Change the belts. To do it yourself you'll need a special wrench and a tool
that locks the pulley in place in order to remove the pulley bolt. So it may
not be worth it. 4 years ago I had my timing belt changed and it cost me
$110 at a local repair shop.
The idle fluctuation seems to happen to all 5 cyl Audis. I never bothered to
fix it.
Mine uses a quart of oil about every 1000 miles
