I should have been more specific: The tank that cracked was on the *opposite*
side of the IC and not attached to the hose ... as such, I don't think that
engine movement entered into this. The crack was also on the engine side so
it's unlikely that it was hit by anything thrown up in front of the car...

I still have a piece of this lying around, too. Perhaps I should try it
