Don't forget Timken bearings also.  I understand that bearing houses
stock these for cheap (like less than $20) if you give them the
standard bearing number (not the VW/Audi P/N).  You still should buy
the snap rings and lock nuts which will be $15 to $25 depending on
where you buy them.  The snap rings will be a dealer only item if
purchased individually.  I have reused the snap rings when they are
in good shape with no ill effects.
