Re: transmission leak--question



Many have responded to point out that *both* the OEM and Redline tranny
oils are synthetic. I did already know that. By proposing a change back
from Redline to the "regular oil" I merely meant to imply that there could
be enough difference, compositionally, to affect the seals. The term
"synthetic" allows a multitude of formulation differences, and so I merely
speculate that these might involve effects on seal swelling/shrinkage
sufficient to cause a 105Kmile seal to leak.
