I thought this tube was only used when the airbox inlet temperature was
really cold, like when you first start the engine, then as the dashpot
warms up, the flapper closes and the car breathes normal air.  My car
does anyway, well, used to before i hole-sawed the air box full of 1-1/2
inch holes because i like the noise. . . :o)
