Suspension Bushing symptoms
What are the symptoms indicating sub-frame bushings needing replacement? I'm
putting new lower ball joints on my 85 CGT in the next few days, but I'm
hearing a profound clunk that I'm not sure is caused by the ball joints. I
previously replaced the upper shock bearings, and the A-arm bushings. The
noise always occurs when backing out of parking spaces and driveways. The
clunk is now occurring every time I apply the brakes, and again when the
brakes are released, as well as potholes (right side). I have checked the
brake calipers, pads and all connecting points, and everything appears tight.
CV joints also seem to be OK, and sway bar bushings look fine. Will know more
after ball joints are replaced. Any ideas? TIA.
