Take note that because the turbo is constantly cooled with water during
driving, it never gets "extremely" hot. You won't see a water-cooled turbo
glow white or even red. At least my 5KT hasn't exploded yet ;-) even though
I was driving with inoperative electric coolant pump for over 2 years.

That's why turbocharged cars generally run hotter than N/A ones. But it's
just a question of matching the performance of the cooling system to the
combined requirements of the engine and turbo. For example, turbocharged 44
series cars have 500W cooling fan.
