    Autothority is usually more expensive, but is usually better than
most.  The chip should have the same or less lag as stock because its
the stock turbo.  Throttle response should also be better.  You will
have to use premium gas.  The stock turbo (K03) is only good to 200-210
hp.  If you want more than this you have to do a turbo upgrade.  The K04
(from a TTsport) is good to 240 hp.  I think the injectors are good to
240hp too.
    Neuspeed has a kit for about $2K for the upgraded turbo, extrude
honed manifold, and chip = 240hp.  It has slightly more lag than stock.
    The avant weighs only 100 pounds more i think, so it will definitely
go nice.  A dealership out west was selling 1.8 T cars chipped and
upgraded into the, i think, 300hp range with full warranty.
    The clutch is not strong enough in quattro cars.  If you launch too
hard it will slip and you will sit there.  It holds sporty driving fine
just not the hard launch part.  If its not a quattro i don't think you'd
have to worry about the clutch.
