locking

Hi,
I have a '92 S4 with a quirk in the locking system.  When I lock the
doors, the buttons go down w/o any trouble.  However, when I UNlock
them, the vacuum pump continues to run for several seconds after the the
doors are unlocked.  Any ideas?

Secondly, when I lock just the passenger side door, all doors lock. 
When I just unlock the passenger side door, the other doors do not
unlock as well.  In my 80Q, the of the doors would unlock in such a
situation.

Lastly, during a snow storm last weekend, it took several tries to get
the doors to properly unlock (by hand, as the remote was no help just
then).  Since that time, the system has worked okay.  It was just that
one time.
