UrQ estimate and value??? (was hit and run stuff)
PlyBoyDoct@aol.com decided to speak these words:
>HAHHAHAHAA!!
>Kick ass when you want something done! 8,000??? Hm....I smell 20v....=)
Yeah, i got an estimate (which i thought was pretty expensive) for just
repairing the rear quarter panel and bumper and valence, while i provide
the tail light stuff...
Well, that was 2300 or something.
Now, well, i dont want to skimp on the repair of course. Now this is
what i will have done:
Parts prices:
Replace rear quarter panel: 1350
Replace rear bumper cover: 550 (i think)
replace rear valence: 1450
Replace trunk lining, carpet type: ??? (there was a hole in the panel,
letting in all of the rain water that we have had in the
past 2.5 months, making it VERY moldy in there...)
Replace rear tail light lense: 120.00 (if i remember correctly, if you
order from the factory, you get the smoked lense now, so i will have to
get 2 of them huh? otherwise they wont match...)
Replace rear tail light circuit board: 50.00 (i think)
Replace bumper shocks: ???
4 rings sticker for the drivers door (since it will need to be painted
for blending purposes, and 2 of them so that they match on each side) 80
bucks each? maybe higher?
Now, that alone is somewhere in the vicinity of 3700, and that doesnt
include the prices for the ??? items. Then you count in labor:
10 hours to replace the rear quarter panel: 700
1 hour for the bumper cover: 70
2 hours for the rear valence: 140
2 hours for trunk lining: 140
.5 hours for tail light lenses/circuit board: 35
2 hours (?) to replace bumper internals: 140
thats 1225
then comes the paint...
painting the rear valence, bumper cover and quarter panel. then you have
to paint the drivers door for blending, along with the C pillar on the
drivers side. Then they have to put a clear coat on that. That is about
1/3 of a paint job, and figuring that this place charges about 6000 for a
paint job, 2000 sounds about right...
so thats another 2000
all totalled: 3700 parts x 8.5% tax = $4014
1225 labor no tax = $1225
2000 for paint = $2000
-----------------------------
$7239
so, there ya have it...
Here is the thing though, blue book on this is just over 8100 dollars.
That is from their website. Here is the thing, i know for a fact that it
would be worth considerably more to you guys given that it has beautiful
16" wheels (only 17lbs a piece, lighter than the A4 sport wheels i might
add which are 21 lbs...). sport 8000 tires, brand new shocks, all that
work done at 2bennett, and the MC conversion... I would estimate that
its worth around 12 grand based on the fact that everyone wants to have
the MC in their UrQ (except, of course the 20v), and that very nice
examples of 83's are going for almost 10,000 now, several are going for
more, and those are the ones that dont even have an MC...
Would you guys be willign to pay 12,000 for a beautiful Mars Red UrQ,
with the tan leather interior (does anyone else on the list have this
interior, or even better, that same color combination?), only about 85k
on the engine, and all the other stuff that i have done with it? Or maybe
even more than that?
If any of you could foward me some links to various UrQ's being sold, i
would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for that...
later...
