I agree. I wouldn't say it "dies" but the power doesn't seem to
increase much over 5500. But if you shift around there you drop right
into the nice strong band at 3500 or so...
incidentally, I have no idea how much stronger than stock my car is, but
it's forte is definitely good torque from 1500 - 3000 and a nice strong
pull from 3000 - 4500 or so. I don't lose anything if I shift higher,
but I don't seem to gain a lot except the delayed shift.
The 85 came with a 4 cyl fuel pump relay so it only goes to 5200 rpm.
Gotta fix that one of these days.
