Andrew.........I just spent a nearly a year solving the same problem (high
oil usage) but in an older car, and I will tell you the details. But the
bottom line to the whole story is GET RID OF THE CAR AND GET A REPLACEMENT
THAT DOESN'T USE OIL ( sorry about the shouting):
BOTTOM LINE: If it isn't the car you want and enjoy, can you trade it in
and get something you like better? Like a slightly newer one? That would
move the problem to some other owner, who might find the oil usage
acceptable.
And if all else fails, can you run the car with 20W-50 oil and reduce the
usage?
Good luck, and let us know what happens. Driving through the showroom
window will only land your dad in the hospital, on the way to jail.
Get another car.
