Oil Consumption

I was just following this thread on oil consumption, because it has me
worried also. We bought a 95 A6Q with the "newer" V6 that they made a
running change with in the 95 model year. FWIW, My first oil change was
10W-30 Mobil 1 as it was winter. The car seemed to use a lot of oil. I
then switched to the 15W-50 (I think, I know the last digit is 50) Mobil 1
and I think consumption has gone down. If we are assuming that the high and
low marks on the dipstick represent 1 quart, the car used between 1/2 to 3/4
of a quart in 1500 miles. As expected, oil consumption has seemed to be
more rapid when we take the car on a trip and run it on the highway (over
3k) all day. This bothers me only because the list consensus is that Audi
engines do not use oil. The other reason is my dad's cars (all American)
never used any oil and he always kept them to beyond 200,000 miles. My
American truck doesn't use any oil either between 3k changes. Anybody think
I should bring this up with Audi (like they would do anything) or just write
it off to the "low friction rings" that have been mentioned? The car is
under the Audi warranty until 75k and has 43.5k on it. Maybe I should just
wait for a few oil changes and see what happens as another lister suggested.
