12V V6 Knocking

I have a 94 90Q with about 75kkms ('bout 47k miles), I don't hear
'knocking' (should hear my dad's 78 Cordoba...wow)when it starts in the
AM, and I live in an area where temps can to down to -35C (yes that is
still cold in farenheit).

I do however hear the valves 'rattle' for a few seconds after starting,
and I have read that this is common for the 12v. (www.12v.org and a few
other places)
