About replacing the timing belt in an I-5, Hizzoner Phil Payne notes:

The major problem for most people is the torque - 332 lb ft at the 
bolt.

True.  But remember that although generating 332 lbs/ft with a 
ONE-foot wrench requires 332 pounds of oomph...you can slide a 4-
foot pipe over a 1/2" "breaker bar" handle and the push required at 
the end of the FOUR-foot pipe is only 83 pounds.  BTDT with pipe 
and calibrated shoulder, nothing fell off afterwards, and I don't think 
10 or 20 lbs/ft one way or another (when you're at those kind of 
numbers) makes a whole lot of difference.
