Re: Rust Free?
They're "really immune to rust" except for the places Audi perforated the
body to hang trim (like the "beauty" piece above the rear bumper cover) and
for where "repairfolk" wreak havoc in such activities as replacing the
windshield. My '87 5Kcstq has those rusty spots around the bumper and a
bunch of them up one A pillar and above the windshield where the adhesive
apparently was overcome with unpadded pry bars. Rest of the body is
rust-free. Of course, a repainting costs more than I paid for the car
nearly five years ago.
