Check the archives. Several listers (Huw Powell and others) have posted on
the mods they've done. AFAIK no one uses a kit. I've heard of  two levels
of modification: (1) just cut some more threads on the shift lever using a
M12X1.5 die and then cut (or saw) off the "extra" length you don't want.
That can obtain, say, one or more inch reduction and/or (2) Move the pivot
position of the shift rod linkage to decrease the throw needed.
