yikes...no teeth

feeling brave this weekend i decided to change my timing belt (86 5kcdtq),
reinforce the intercooler, and do all the little things i'd been putting off
during the cold weather. i had checked my tb by looking through the
inspection slot and, it looked ok except for microscopic cracks on its
surface. i knew that time-wise it had to be changed though. when i finally
got to removing the tb...(i spent a couple of hours making a 2084 type of
tool) i discovered that there were 5 teeth missing from the belt <gulp> 3
missing, three intact and then two missing. wow, if the middle three had
broken....! i'm thankful i went easy on the car because i knew the belt
should be changed and the intercooler reinforced before pushing things. i
also put on new rotors and pads and parking brake cables. i had a problem
removing the front main oil seal but was able to mke a seal puller with an
allen key which i cut and shaped and then welded to a long bolt. the other
three pullers i devised were either too soft and bent <and thats bad> or too
brittle and snapped. the hardened allen key was just right though. i'm now
trying to find a source for a high pressure schraeder valve to modify my
failing bomb. i know that i can order one from the fellow in the usa but
sometimes cross border shipping just isn't worth it. oh yes i discovered
that my tranny mount was shot allowing the tranny to touch the
frame...probably the source of the clunk i was hearing.
