with any luck, i will have a perfectly good urq dash

dunno about chemicals, but one of thos simple shade
visors for when you park the car should work great.
it probably only cracks from sun exposure with closed
car, no circulation (not moving). that's when convection
builds up to ruin it, methinks (like a record). probably
one of those carpet covers would do it too.

oh, hee, diddn't see ths part. like i said, hopefully.
when i go in for wx to mb conversion, i'm hope to have
enough for a later-model conversion, like an 86 or 87
4kq. i think the dashes in the 83 urq are ugly and just
too brittle and plasticy. also i want more gagues, and
to get dual diff-locks, replace my alarm, get a new cd
head unit, upgrade speakers. given that the mc conversion
needs a lot of wiring harness hacking anyway, i figure
i can save a lot of labor/time/effort and some $ in the
long run to do it at the same time.

so, i'll post. realistically, i probably will not be
able to accomplish this until july - i still have to
raise some more money (anyone want to buy a powerbook?
it's cheep) and then get my car in the queue, never mind
the time takes to actually get the work done...
