Early 4000/ur-Q/Coupe Dashboard Preservation

The dash for the ur-Q is as seriously cracked as some of the old 100LS
dashes I used to see. The one in my Coupe was pretty good, with only
slight cracks at the vent. But they've crossed to the nearside of the
vents now, moving inward toward the passenger compartment.

Has anyone had any success at having these cracks repaired before they
get too far out of hand?

And, what's the best solution short of garaging the car to keep one of
these dashes from cracking? Do any of the commercial preparations reallt
work?

If repair is not likely with the cracks having advanced as far as they
have, I wonder if any of you has a nearly crack-free dark brown dash
for sale?

thanks, -dq
