Junkyard stuff

Went and visited my favorite u-pull-it yard yesterday, came away with a
crank pulley (harmonic balancer) for my TQ - $8.00.

They unfortunately have crushed the four type 44 cars they had - fairly
picked over by now anyway. The pulley came off an 87 coupe (digital dash
model) - front end tin already gone, and the pulley hanging out in the
breeze. Unfortunately, the stud that the 2084 tool locks to was also broken
off. How to lock the engine?

Aha, spark plugs out (in the rain), engine is junk anyway. Drop a large
bolt through the nearest plug hole, turn until engine stops (piston jams
against bolt), apply grunt, pulley bolt comes out nice as you could please.
Not advised on any engine you ever hope to use again!

Cars in yard: 83 GT (picked over), 87 GT (not as bad, but getting thin),
and a 1988 80 Quattro with 132K, hit in right front, many, many good parts
(windshield back) - only the radio is gone. Velour seats, brown, car is
silver, was originally red.

Also a set of 205-40 by 16 tires, offered at $90 the set of four, good tread.

You gotta go get this stuff - they won't ship. (Daytona)
