Road Rage, Dan's experience
Expect more of these tales. People will act rude to the point of
recklessness- these same people wouldn't dare cross the street against
the light! The auto makes people feel anonymous and they think they'll
not have to deal with the consequences.
I've been guilty of it- such as accelerating to close gaps.
I had a man chase me to my house and threaten me from across the
street, I had punks try to pass on the left median, bright lighted for
moving onto the left lane @ 70mph and making a suburban touch his
brakes.
The queen mother of all road rage happened earlier this year... A lady
in an Honda sped away from a light, speeding 80mph in a 45 zone, quick
lane changes (middle lane to right turn) with sharp stabs on the
brakes all the way.
She cut me off and on the next right, she went wide- I went sharp. She
laid on the horn. At a light, I was caught behind a school bus. I
looked at the left lane, open so I took it. Honda lady sped up to
close the gap. I made it, but she was about a foot from my bumper.
I touched the brakes to get her to back off.
Horn, fingers, screaming.
At the next light she pulled up beside screaming, calling me an idiot-
f-ing this, f-ing that.
I said I had room, but you sped up!
'F-ing had 2 f-ing inches!!! You f-ing slam on your brakes! You could
have killed my child!!'
I apologized- and got away from that lady.
I started to wonder why she'd speed, cut people off, drive like a nut,
use the horn, flail the finger and use obscene language with a baby in
the back seat.
Never the less- I was disturbed as well.
