83 urquattro : struts and springs

I need a set of springs and struts for my 1983 Audi Coupe Quattro Turbo
I have upgraded my wheels/tires to 16” * 7.5”. The tires I have on now
are 225/50/16. I’m kind of worried that if I lower the suspension I’ll
get more tire rub. I get a little now but that’s probably from the saggy
suspension.
Would I be able to use my existing springs (they are the original
springs).
I am not too concerned about lowering the car.
I just thought that if I’m getting the work done, I may as well get it
all done.
Should I get gas or hydraulic struts. I’ve been told that gas struts are
the better ones but are usually 4 times the price. I want a stiffer ride
but not so stiff that I’d break a hip at each bump.
