Yes, the engine itself is a direct bolt-in, but the electronics and
the fuel delivery system would be harder to install. If you have got
some money and want to try it, go ahead, but if you just want a
replacement for the old engine, get a normal 2.2 I5 gas engine..

I want to try the TDI conversion myself, but I need some more money
and a car to install the whole thing into. The engine is about $1500
for a used one here in Norway, probably cheaper in Germany.
