Re: blowin heat in the heat
Dave Hi from Greece,
I think type 44 is the same body shell with the RS2.
I had the similar problem about a month ago.
It turned out being a stuck temperature regulator flap servomotor.
It is a bit of a mess to take it out.
You can read the procedure in the archives. Title was "SOLVED RS2 with stuck
temp regulator flap"
I then cleaned the contact of the motor with WD40 and contact cleaner.
One week later I had to change the servomotor because the rectified one was
stuck again.
So I strongly recommend you change it.
Do not go near the AUDI parts shop. BOSCH is selling the same item at one
third of the price (that is here in Greece)
AUDI part number is 8A1 820 511A
BOSCH part number is 0 132 801 029
All the above stands for the RS2 which has a similar climate control to the
European AUDI 80 and it was produced from 1994 until 1997. I think it is the
type 44 bodyshell.
I may be wrong though. If your car is called a 4000 and it a jellymould
design (Phil thanks for the terminology) then most probably it is similar to
mine.
I hope this helps you.
I am calling the list to clarify the problem with type 44 and RS2 being the
same bodyshell.
