Re: ventilation problems with 90Q 20V
Todd:
common problem in older cars: failing heater core leaks coolant into
heater box/ducts/etc. mold and mildew take up legal residence. stench
gets blown in your face. simple cause, hassle to fix - remove all
ducting, fanatically clean and dry, reassemble. some people report luck
in dumping some kind of toxic agent (Lysol or the like) into the vents,
but i've never been willing to go that route... note the lack of heat
exacerbates the problem since warm air would otherwise dry up any
limited amount of moisture that got in there.
i had a friend whose date barfed down the vents in his volvo - similar
problem. well, more problems actually, since her father was standing at
the curb when it happened.
