Re: Extended warranty for 1997 A4 2.8Q - worth it?
Wade Hi from Greece,
As a safety measure I would prolong my guarantee period If I were in your
shoes.
I would not count the economics of it only but I would calculate the "peace
of mind" factor too.
Now regarding the tyres. There was a sort of a thread some time ago with
Dave Eaton, some other listers and myself involved in talking about the S-02
Potenzas.
Dave's and mine opinion was that they are a very good choice for the dry and
wet but in 245/40/17 dimension on the 7x17 RS2 rims they are very hard and
very loud. We both had problems with our rims bending and I also had a
problem with the front tyres' linens warping under very hard braking.
Directional stability was very much influanced by the quality and leveling
of the tarmac and the S-02s were consumpted faster than gazoline.
Maybe you have a similar problem with your tyre and rim size, not
co-operating so well.
I hope this helps
Regards from Greece
