On the speedo driven 5000's there is a gear that comes out. Take the
speedo out and look at it from the back. On the left side you will see
a white gear on a shaft that has kind of moved to the left(Out). Push
the gear back it. You wiil have to keep it from coming out again.
My car had the gear on the speedo come out on me so I pushed
ir back in but it came out again. I converted my car to a Turbo with
gauges so I did not fix it permanetly. While you have the intrument
cluster out you might as well reset lever on back of the cluster so
your EGR light does not come for another 20K. It has been awile since
I did all this so I may have the sides wrong on the gear.
Hope you get yours fixed.
