I bought a silver trunk lid from an 87 5000 (turbo, but not quattro) which
appeared to have had black-out badging as stock. It fit very nicely (color
matched!) onto my non-turbo 1986 5Ks. I didn't find any difference in the
car except for the color of the badge.

However, upon VERY close examination, I can see a few small remaining areas
where the silver paint hasn't completely been sanded off! It LOOKS stock,
but in this instance, isn't!

No flames please, we have previously discussed my $25 0.0 bar boost but
completely trouble-free turbocharger installation and I have done the
required penance for this shameful and illicit badge engineering . . . ;-)
