I can only give you some indirect information.  About four years ago I
went about installing a set of the same VW Recaro seats into my '85 GT. 
It turned out that the VW seat rails were about an inch further apart
than the Audi seat rails.

No biggie.  Just a little time with a torch and big F'ing hammer and
they slid right into place.  

The only caveat is that the center tunnel in a quattro may make it
almost impossible to turn the adjuster wheels for the seat back angle. 
It's difficult to reach them in the GT, and it's got a lower tunnel
since it's "only" FWD.
