Temp Warning Light

Fellow Listers,
Yesterday, after some spirited acceleration (and deceleration), all
of a sudden steam came a-rising from under the hood. Apparently, the
fuse ( 30 amp strap) for the cooling fan had failed and the coolant
expanded a little too much. No problem, five minute diagnosis, thankful
that it wasn't more serious.
After getting the fuse from Audi, at an incredibly reasonable ninety
cents, (yes $0.90!!, I thought that all Audi parts came in multiples of
$500), the fan again worked fine, and the temp stayed in the correct
range. The problem is, that the coolant warning light in the check
display now comes on sometimes at startup, other times when the temp
gauge reads normal temperature.
Any thoughts of what could be causing this erroneous warning? Any
help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
