RE: Bauhaus means...?

FWIW Bauhaus was a school of art & architecture founded in Germany just
after World War I. They were some of the early proponents of modernisim in
building, furniture and industrial design. I think people like Walter
Gropius who later designed many of the US skyscrapers belonged to Bauhaus.
Their furniture was sleek with rounded lines and liberal use of chrome and
black. My interpretation of how Bauhaus relates to the TT is that Bauhaus
means very clean, sleek and rounded lines with almost an Art Deco aspect to
it. A lot of the new Audi/VW products have touches of this look. eg: the
interior of the Passat is crisp lines with chrome and black. Another term
you might apply to the look is Retro.

Subject: Bauhaus means...?

In every review of the TT I've seen, it gets described as being Bauhaus, or
having a Bauhaus design. Can someone please tell me what the heck it means
or what it is a reference to?

Thanks,
