Ah! Most interesting indeed. The cutout happened again this
evening at 1.0 bar MAP. I sat in traffic for 1 hour to cover under
15km to get home. The brake lamps started doing their thing again,
much to my annoyance. With headlamps off I get the beep when I
touch the pedal. With headlamps on I get the beep when lifting from
the pedal. All brake lamps work. (maybe, in order not to be annoyed
by the beeping, I should put the headlamps on before braking and off
when lifting. hee hee. :) )
Most perculiar thing: the tail lamps remain on, including the 3rd
brake lamp on the rear screen. It just stays on. Even funnier is that
it stays on, but at a lower intensity. When I put down on the brakes
the 3rd brake lamp gets brighter. What the *^$% ?!?!?!
Once into better traffic I had to try and gun it to get a lane.
The cut out happened and I cruised home so I can get to work on the
lamps while they were doing their thing. Oddly, the problem went
away within 2km of home. This car knows something, it's busy
thinking, I tell you!!! It hates me! That's it, it's not getting
the tonne of new parts currently cluttering up my floor until it
gets a better thinking manner!!!
I'm about to waddle out and go rip up the rear tail lamps and look
for corrosion. I suspect there is some, but why would the lamps
remain on?
Frustrating for me, and annoying for the drivers behind me.
