My '91 Caprice has pretty much the same 305, as far as I can tell. 
Only 170 hp, lots of torque. (It is astounding what a slight numerical
difference can do: My '95 Caprice 4.3 V8 is rated at 200 hp, with
slightly lower max torque, and it's much slower at low rpm and 
much quicker at high rpm than the 5.0)

I have a 1984 Audi 5kS. Non-q, non-t.
How much better is the 87's engine than the 84's?

Although it seems to get rather close around 50-70mph, the Audi
is easily beaten by the Caprice. However, I believe a Camaro would
weigh a bit less than 4100lbs. Note that both have auto transmissions.

..and then there's the optional 350 for that Camaro.
