I'm back (sort of)
Hello listers -
I have been lurking for the past year or so due to work/home requirements.
(New home in New Hampshire and working in St. Louis). Some of you might
remember me from last year's drive up to Mt. Washington (I have the "tired -
needs some refreshing" white 86 4KQ with some significant body role on Bear
Notch Road). So in order spend more time at home and working on the Audi's
I've stopped working. (I'm actually going back to school). But I'm going to
have some time to freshen up the 4KQ. (It has basically been sitting in my
garage in Nashua for the past 10 months, occasionally been started).
It has the following maladies:
-busted/rusted out fuel line near the gas tank
Previous owner put some rubber fuel line as a fix and I was thinking of
doing the same.
-leaking coolant into the car - heard it was the line to the heater core or
the core itself
-wheel bearing going quickly (needed badly- needed at last years Mt
Washington race)
-T belt/water pump - got the parts need the Know-how (Special tools
needed?)
-Broken drivers seat - temp fix does not allow the seat to be moved forward
and back
-broken heater door or temp adjustment arm- not bad in the Winter but it
ain't fun in the summer.
-worn out springs/struts- considering coilovers but need to investigate all
options
That's it for now. I'm looking for some advice and BTDT's. I'm gonna be at
Mt Washington on Sunday (not in the 4KQ for obvious reasons) and I'll stop
by the corral.
