Re: RS2 Mods for Q's
What?!?
The RS2 is based on the 80avant.
Everything for the RS2 fits on the 80 and the 90 and the CQ.
I grant you that the RS2 uses different fenders, but your claim that the front
cover won't line up properly with the 80 fenders is just not true.
We have done several of these conversions with both the OEM cover and our
fiberglass cover. They have lined up correctly in every install. Yes, we've
put this cover on 80,s 90,s and CQ's.
As far as the difference between suspensions in the type 89 and the B4,
they're really aren't any other than the use of 2-pc uprights in the later
cars vs. 1-pc in the earlier cars. However everything swaps between the 2.
BTDT.
One question for you, if the front wheels did actually sit further back in the
fender well, how in the world would both cars use the same control arms and
related suspension components?
The difference between the fenders on the RS2 and the 80/90 are that the RS2
fender is radiused for a larger diameter wheel than the others.
The hood is actually the same as the the Cabriolet and the rest of the B4 90's
and CQ's in europe...
This hood will bolt on the the earlier car as well albeit with a new core
support and hood latch.
RS2 parts are quite available here in the US, you just need to know where to
look...
