Problems with 5k Turbo
A friend of mine is giving me his 1987 5000 Turbo. It's been
parked
for the past 3 years, and hasn't been started.
I fired it up last night and found a few problems. Hopefully the
list can provide some answers.
1) The car will not shift into gear. It's a 5-speed manual.
Depressing the clutch entirely to the floor does not make a
difference, and the clutch pedal's action does not feel smooth. Am
I looking at a new clutch, a new cable,... transmission?
2) The computer gives a readout of pressure in the intake
manifold. The manual says that at normal idle, the pressure should
be at 1.0 bar. But my car idles at 0.1 bar, and never exceeds 0.7
bar when revving the engine. Bad turbo? Leak somewhere?
3) The engine idles at 2000rpm, and misses about 3 times every 10
seconds.
Other niggles:
4) Driver and one passenger door cannot be opened from the
outside. The door latch moves freely without any resistance.
5) Passenger power window doesn't work.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'd really like to get this car
on the road, it only has 74,000 miles.
