Nope, even the 5KTQ had the altitude sensor.  The later models might have
been able to do more, but the boost will definately be limited at higher
altitudes.

My car was VERY sluggish at high altitudes.  Well, off the line.  Turbo
helps though, but only above 3500 rpms.
