Here's a thought, would it be possible to fit an alternator from one of the
Ur's if I made up some sort of jumper from the loom multi-plug to the
alternator post?

Typical. Talk about a font of all knowledge. You know AMP partnumbers - bet
you also know of somewhere that supplies them too - slight lack of them in
this area. Any source for a parts listing?
