    I rebuilt the distributor (new seals, hall sender) and ran it in my 84
coupe for a couple of weeks before I put it in the 86.  I don't think that
is the problem.

I may take a look at the ecu ground at the intake.  I took a cue from you
and had it powder coated, so I may not be getting a good ground there

I haven't looked at the wiring schematics yet, but is the ecu independent of
the fpr?

I didn't disconnect anything in the interior when I dropped the engine so
hopefully nothing in there is hooked up wrong

The mystery harness may be to the 3 wire oxs.  I think that it came out of
the loom next to the oxs single wire (green)

Any idea of the two wires on the drivers floor coming from the general area
of the fuse box?

One more thing that I can't seem to find is the vacuum line that goes
through the firewall to the air plenum.  any idea where this hooks up to the
engine?
