1990 CQ Problems ...Fuel Injector replacement, rough starting..
I recently replaced 1 injector in my coupe only to find that another also
needed replacement. After the 2 were installed it ran very well for about
2 -3 weeks, then began to show the same rough idling and hesitation it
displayed before replacement. I submitted a query to the list, but got no
response to the following : IF ONE INJECTOR GOES BAD AND YOU REPLACE IT,
DOES IT (BEING NEW=WORKING MORE EFFICIENTLY) HURT OR CAUSE MORE STRESS ON
THE REMAINING INJECTORS? My brother told me that if one injector is bad,
it's probably BEST to replace all of the injectors because it is predicting
the immanent failure of the rest. Well, I replaced the remaining 3 and was
pleased with the preliminary results, but I now have trouble starting the
car. It requires the engine to crank apx.10 times before the engine will
start and begin a rough idle until I increase the throttle a bit until it
will smooth out. What is this suggesting?? Does it sound like I need a new
fuel pump, filter, regulator,???? HELP ME.
