Well, first I must admit cheating, I use the glue that I have for gluing
speaker magnets to the other metal pieces.  But I have seen similar
looking adhesives in Auto parts stores.  Usually an activator of some
sort (may clean surface, definitely speeds up glue setting) and a space
shuttle tile glue...

Cleaning the glass first is of course the key.  You glue on the smallest
piece you can, on my car its just the tiny pot metal piece with the set
screw in it, must weigh a couple of grams so gravity isn't fighting you.
