if cold starts are a non issue (keeping in mind that every 80's car i've
seen has basically been missing the inlet plate and hose to this thing
anyway) remove the three screws, pull it, gut it, replace cover.
I elected (why?) to put on a new manifold air plate thingie and fresh
tubing. But it goes below freezing here a couple weeks a year, pretty
consistently.
