I can think of a couple ...

Imagine the crud you'd suck up if that were a shop-vac mounted so low
...bugs, dirt water, rocks. you may well survive all but the water.. first
good puddle (the car in front) and hydraulic lock is a serious risk. Aren't
those air filters tough enough to change .... why would you want to do it
more frequently.

Your gains (loss) will be minimal depending on how good you are at duct
design. Using a NACA duct Carroll Smith, "tune to Win" found an increase of
0.083 psi at 80 mph and 0.34 at 160 mph. That is 0.6 hp gain at 80 mph and
2.7 hp at 160.....if you can find the room under there for a Formula 1 style
NACA duct and get that 115 hp monster to go fast enough to make it work :-).

Also (in the summer) heat is more concentrated near the black asphalt.
The '87 4kq does a fairly good job of getting outside air as it is. Unless
you have built the motor and removed the restrictions in the intake
manifold, you are wasting your time. At least in my opinion.
