Boy, my '86 5kT's are pitchin fits lately..

the speedo, and odom in my '86 5kT (AT) are working intermittantly.  the tach 
works fine, but sometimes the speedometer needle will fall back to "0 mph" 
while driving, and at the same time the odometer stops.
When it does work, i notice the odom. doesnt roll over freely, but it 
"jerks". 
any ideas? 
is the speedometer cluster in a '86 5speed TQ the same as a '86 AT turbo?

any help would be appreciated..
