I use an old trick my cousin has used for years, and he is a mechanic. I
know it sound dangerous, but I've never seen it do any harm. Remove one of
the spark plugs from the engine. Take a decently long piece of nylon rope
and feed it into the piston. You have to feed enough in so that the piston
compresses against the rope before it starts going back down. Now just
crank the engine by hand until it compresses against the rope and stops.
It works every time. Hope this helps.
