OTOH there are times when you should bargain,
Recently I watched a woman buy a used "new" beetle with serious paint
swirls for the dealer asking price of $18k. Seems like she could have
talked them down some. What would a new one cost anyway? They had the
same price on the TDI golf I was buying with 3k miles on it and no paint
swirls. They went down $2600 which may not be a screaming deal, but at
least I wasn't paying a new car price for a used car.
